This Privacy Policy explains how Diamond Work Book ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. The app helps diamond workers record their daily work, working days, and withdrawals. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information you enter
All work data you create in the app — daily work records, working days, withdrawal entries, and (in Manager mode) the employees you add — is stored on your device. We do not transmit or access this data, unless you choose to turn on Google Drive backup (see section 2 below). The app does not require you to create an account or provide personal details such as your name, phone number, or email to use it.
Google Drive backup (optional)
The app offers an optional backup of your data to your own Google Drive.
It is off by default; nothing is uploaded until you turn it on. When you enable it, the app
asks you to sign in with Google Sign-In, which lets it see your account's
email address and basic profile (shown on the Backup screen so you know
which account is connected), and requests only the drive.appdata permission —
a hidden, app-private folder in your Drive. The app cannot see, read, or change any
other files in your Google Drive.
The backup is a single file containing your work records, withdrawals, employees, and your preferences (theme, language, price). You can run a backup manually or schedule automatic backups (Off / Daily / Weekly). Restoring on a new device replaces that device's data with the contents of your backup.
You can turn backup off, disconnect your Google account, or delete the backup at any time from Settings → Backup. You can also remove the app's hidden data from your Google account at drive.google.com.
Analytics & crash reporting
The app uses Google Firebase to keep it stable and improve it:
- Firebase Analytics — aggregate, non-identifying usage data collected automatically by Google (such as app opens and sessions, and general device and country information). The app does not log your work records or any personal details as events.
- Firebase Crashlytics — automatic crash and error reports, including your device model, operating-system version, and the technical stack trace, so we can fix problems. These reports do not include your work records or withdrawals.
This processing is governed by Google's policies — see the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy & security.
Information collected automatically (advertising)
The app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. To deliver ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, including your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general device information, and app-usage interactions. This processing is governed by Google's own policies:
You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time from your device's settings
(Settings → Google → Ads).
Permissions the app uses
- Internet & network state — used to load advertisements, send crash and analytics reports, and (if you enable it) back up to Google Drive.
- Notifications — used to send an optional daily reminder. You can disable this in your device's notification settings.
- Run at startup — used to reschedule the daily reminder after the device restarts.
A Google account is requested only when you choose to turn on Google Drive backup. The app uses your device's screen lock or fingerprint for the optional app lock; this is handled by Android and we never receive your biometric data.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Your work data lives on your device, so uninstalling the app permanently deletes the copy on your phone. You may also clear the app's data from your device settings at any time.
If you turned on Google Drive backup, that backup stays in your Drive until you delete it — uninstalling the app does not remove it. You can delete it from Settings → Backup before uninstalling, or remove the app's hidden data from your Google account at drive.google.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
