Know where the money went.

A straightforward book for what you spend, earn and lend. Open it and start writing β€” there is no sign-up, no profile, and nothing to agree to first.

Android and iPhone Β· Free Β· No advertising

No account

Nothing to sign up for. The app works the second it opens.

No servers

We do not run one. Your entries are written to your own phone.

No tracking

No analytics, no ads, no crash reporting. None of it is in the app.

Your backup

A file you keep, or a hidden folder in your own Google Drive.

What it does

Everything an ordinary month asks of a money book.

  • Daily entries

Income, expenses and transfers between your own accounts, each with a category, a note and a date.

  • Several accounts

Cash, bank, savings β€” as many as you keep. One is your primary, and the app opens on it.

  • Monthly budgets

A limit per category. Set it once and it carries forward; what was spent resets each month.

  • Reports you can read

Spending by category, income against expense, and budget against what actually went out.

  • A lending ledger

Who owes you and who you owe, person by person, with the running balance kept for you.

  • Bill reminders

Recurring bills, daily to yearly, with a nudge on the day β€” and a tap to record the payment.

  • PDF statements

Export a month or a year as a proper statement, laid out the way a bank would print it.

  • Carry forward

Last month's closing balance opens the next one, so a month never starts from nothing.

The part most expense apps leave out

Why β€œnothing is collected” is a statement about the build, not a promise.

Nothing is compiled in to collect with

Pennywise has no analytics library, no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting service compiled into it. Not configured off β€” absent. We have no way of knowing how many people use the app, which screens they open, or a single figure any of them recorded.

That is possible because there is no account and no server. Your entries are written to a database inside the app's private storage on your phone, and they stay there unless you choose to move them.

Backup goes to your Drive

If you switch on Google Drive backup, the file goes to a hidden folder inside your Google account. The app asks for one permission, drive.appdata, which cannot read anything else in your Drive. We never hold a copy.
